Beverly Kay (Hillegeist) Young

72 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Beverly Kay Young passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.Beverly was a retired registered nurse having worked at Fairfield Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. She was a very faithful member of Northside Baptist Church in Fairfield and an active member of Home Extension and had volunteered many hours at The Clothesline in Fairfield. She was a past member of the Kiwanis as well.

Beverly was born August 3, 1946 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Joel and Mary Catherine (Stewart) Hillegeist.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Young of Fairfield, Illinois; her mother, Kay Hillegeist of Fairfield, Illinois; a daughter, Brenda Burik and her husband Doug of Carrollton, Ohio; a son, Jim Roemer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and one sister, Janet Houser and her husband Jerry of Fairfield, Illinois. Two grandchildren, Matt Burik and his wife Summer and Megan Burik and two great grandchildren, Ryder Burik and Trenton Ward. Special girlfriends, Charlene Carter and Glenda Lawson of Fairfield and many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Joel and an infant sister, Brenda.

Funeral services for Beverly Young will be held Saturday, February 23rd, at 11:00 a.m. at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois. Burial will follow at Burnt Prairie Cemetery.

A visitation will be held Friday evening, February 22nd, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church and will be accepted at Nale's Funeral Home.
