Katherine B (Abby) Cheney

            64 year old Carmi resident, Katherine B. Abby Cheney, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 8:27pm at her residence.

            Kathy was born January 12, 1955 in Olney, Illinois to William R. and Bernice (Keener) Abby.

            Kathy had worked for various restaurants as a cook. 

            Kathy is survived by her longtime companion and caregiver, Junior Ziegler of Carmi, one daughter, Whitney (Denny) Coston of Crossville, one son, Derek Randolph of Crossville, one brother, Kenny Abby of Santa Monica, CA, one sister, Sue (Kent) Nale of Albion and two grandchildren, Pixie and Lala.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Bobbie Bevins.

           A memorial service for Kathy Cheney will be held Monday, December 2, 2019 at 2:00pm at Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion with David Shain officiating. A visitation will be held at 1:00pm until the time of service at Nale’s Funeral Home.
