Rose M (Carter) Simpson

            80 year old Barnhill resident, Rose Simpson, passed away Monday morning, September 16th, 2019 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital skilled care unit.

            Rose was born October 27, 1938 in Mill Shoals, Illinois to Bert & Gusta (Hiley) Carter. She married Sammy Simpson on June 15, 1963 in the Christian Church at Mill Shoals, and he survives.

            Rose had worked in the plant at Airtex Products for several years and was a homemaker. She attended the Mill Shoals Christian Church in her early years.

            Rose is survived by her husband, Sammy; one step-daughter, Kim (Ivan) Gaston of Albion; three brothers, Richard (Paula) Carter of Petersburg, Indiana, Danny (Debbie) Carter of Springfield, Illinois and Gerald Carter of Greentown, Indiana; two sisters, Patty Larck of Decatur, Illinois and Becky Lane of Greenfield, Massachusetts; one granddaughter, one step-granddaughter, three great grandchildren and one step great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and five brothers.

            Funeral services for Rose Simpson will be held at noon on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow in Shrewsbury Cemetery in Mill Shoals.   Memorials may be given to Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Comfort Room and will be accepted at the funeral home.
