Alan Edward Mann

55 year old Ellery resident, Alan Edward Mann, passed from this life to the next on January 1, 2025 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, Illinois.

Alan was born in Olney, Illinois on October 28, 1969, to John and Barbara (O’Daniel) Mann.   He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Albion, Illinois.  Alan participated in Special Olympics and was proud of the many medals that he earned while competing.  He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

Alan is survived by his parents John and Barbara Mann, his brother, Justan (Amy) Mann of Taylorville, IL and his sister, Hillari (John) Brock of Albion.  His nieces, Marlee Mann, Macy Mann, Ashten Brock and his nephew, Jordon Brock.

Alan was blessed to have aunts, Betty (Jim) Wallace and Niece (Bill) Edwards and a host of cousins who survive; Dana (Fred) Gilbert and children Holt Gilbert and Wyatt (Macayle) Gilbert; Brian Wallace, Brent (Haley) Edwards and children Truitt, Barrett, Beckett; Brandon (Amanda) Edwards and children Emily and Clay.  He also leaves behind his “best friend” Kathy Beadles.

Alan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmen O’Daniel, Edward Hillary O’Daniel Jr., Alan and Mildred Mann.

Funeral services for Alan Mann will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at First Missionary Baptist Church in Albion, IL.   There will be no visitation.     Burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Ellery, Illinois.
