Alice E. (Pope) Mason

93 year old Albion resident, Alice E. Mason departed this life on July 21, 2022 at her residence in Albion, Illinois

Alice was born on January 22, 1929, in Edwards County. Alice was the daughter of George and Wanda Chloe (Mullinnax) Pope.

Alice married Hubert E. Mason on November 22, 1948 and to this union was born 4 daughters, Diana, Beverly, Elaine and Rita.  Alice was a homemaker and also worked beside Hubert on the family farm.

Alice is survived by her 4 daughters; Diana (Donald) Vangilder of Albion, Beverly (Steve) Ward of Albion, Elaine (Marlon) Short of Browns and Rita Mason of Albion.  8 grandchildren; Amy Williams, Wade Vangilder, Mitchell (Andrea) Ward, Trevor (Michele) Ward, Makenzie (Jacob) Goble, Nathan (Jeanne) Short, Brycen (Stefanie) Short and Makaela (Ryan) Hufford and 14 great grandchildren. 1 sister, Pauline Cunningham of Northern Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers; Bennie, Leroy and Donald Pope.  

Graveside services for Alice E. Mason will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Graceland Cemetery.  Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorials may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
