Anna Belle Meritt

91-year-old former Golden Gate, Illinois resident, Anna Belle Meritt of Katy, Texas died Friday, June 15, 2018 in Katy, Texas. She had owned and operated a beauty salon in Golden Gate after retiring from United Airlines in Chicago.

Anna Belle was born August 10, 1926 in Golden Gate, Illnois to Edwards L. Elliott and Hattie Sneeling Elliott. She was united in marriage to James Fletcher Meritt who died September 26, 1981.

Survivors include a son, Bruce Meritt of Houston, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Frances Jane Meritt and her and husband Tom, W. James Meritt and his wife Dawn, and Rick Dolgner; 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Anna Belle was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Kathy Ann Dolgner, 2 sisters Mabel Headly, Katheryn Quindry, and 4 brothers Ivan, Loyd, Raymond, amd Talph Elliott.

Funeral services for Anna Belle Meritt will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with burial at Simpson Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, June 22, 2018 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois.
