84-year-old Chippewa Fallls, Wisconsin resident Bettye Anderson died February 2, 2018 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. She graduated from Southern Illinois University and received her Master's degree in piano performance from the University of Wisconsin. She lived in Milwaukee Wiasconsin where she was a piano teacher for 40 years. She was an accomplished pianist. Bettye founded a pre-school for the blind in Milwaukee and for many years was the principal pianist for the Great Lakes Opera Company and Patio Players. Bettye was a member of First Baptist Church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and active member of several musical societies.
Bettye was born January 4, 1934 in Metropolis, Illinois to Lankston Williams and Eugenia Williams. She married Earl Anderson and they were together for 62 years.
Survivors include her husband Earl Anderson of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; a son Kenneth Anderson and his wife Debby; a brother Dick Williams and his wife Jane of Peoria, Illinois; 3 sisters Nancy Tassos of Winter Park, Florida, Jane Johnson of Old Daybrook, Connecticut and Virginia Boelhouwer and her husband Douglas of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, and a brother.
Memorial services for Bettye Anderson will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2018 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois with Brother David Shain officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday May 27, 2018 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois.
