Carl Dean Bunnage, age 82, of Fairfield passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday morning, May 15, 2021 while camping with family near Ingraham, Illinois.
Carl was born in Golden Gate on September 4, 1938 to Floyd and Francis (Penrod) Bunnage. Carl married Ruth Johnson on August 28, 1960 in Albion and she survives. Carl was a lifelong farmer, worked in construction, and had served four terms as the road commissioner for Massillon Township. He was a member of the Fairfield First Christian Church. Carl enjoyed to net fish, hunt, go camping, and play a lively round of dominoes.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth, four daughters Dawn (Jim) Johnston of Albion, Carlene (Mike) Goodman, Chris (Kevin) Leonard, and Deana (Dan) Coomer all of Fairfield and one son, Carl Levi Bunnage of Fairfield; one brother, Frank (Ann) Bunnage of Mt. Erie; two sisters, Flava Bunting of Albion and Dorothy Summers of Noble; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceding Carl in death were his parents, two brothers, and one great grandchild.
A memorial service for Carl will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 23rd, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Fairfield. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.nalesfuneralhome.com. Nale's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
