83-year-old Albion resident, Carson L. (Lloyd) Pollard, died at 12:23 p.m. Sunday, November 20 at his home. He was a retired farmer, member of the First Presbyterian Church, former member and president of the Edwards County Fair Board and former member of the Edwards County Commissioners, a member of the Illinois Harness Horsemen's Association, Egyptian Colt Stakes, former member of the WADI board, and a member of the Illinois Standardbred Owners & Breeders Association. Lloyd was born July 31, 1928 in Burnt Prairie to Carson and Lola Short Pollard. On February 12, 1949 he was united in marriage to Margaret Jack. Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Hoskins and her husband Phill of Bridgeport, IL and Mary Sue Fear of Montana; one son, Loren J. Pollard and his wife Cindy of Albion; one daughter-in-law, Stephanie Pollard of Albion; two brothers, Ronald of Fairfield and Murrell of Peoria, IL; ten grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. His parents, wife Margaret, a son Roger "Wayne" Pollard, 1 brother and 2 sisters preceded Lloyd in death. Funeral services for Carson L. (Lloyd) Pollard will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 23 at the Albion First Presbyterian Church with Brother David Shain officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 22 at the First Presbyterian Church. Nale's Funeral Home in Albion is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
