Charles "Shod" Hutchcraft

91 year old Golden Gate, Illinois resident Charles "Shod" Hutchcraft died at 11:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2017 at Way-Fair Nursing & Rehab in Fairfield, Illinois. He worked as a horse trainer in Wayne and Edwards Counties.

Shod was born September 30, 1925 in Wayne County, Illinois to Johnny Hutchcraft and Clara Daniels Hutchcraft. He was united in marriage in Wayne County, Illinois on October 8, 1960 to Betty Keener who died March 1, 2001.

Survivors include a daughter Gloria Michels and her husband Larry of Golden Gate, Illinois; a stepson Bill Maidlow and his wife Linda of Sun City, California; 3 grandchildren Tom Maidlow and his wife Michelle of Lincoln, Nebraska, Russell Golbricht and his wife Dianna of Carlinville, Illinois, and Melissa Resetarits and her husband Doug of Homer, Alaska.

Shod was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services for Charles "Shod" Hutchcraft will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with Rev. Harry Thomason. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 15, 2017 at Bethel Cemetery near Ellery, Illinois.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2017 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois.
