Clarabelle Phillips, 87, passed away Monday evening, November 23, 2020 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.
Clarabelle was born January 19, 1933 to Lester and Laurel (Pierce) Ewing in Wayne County. She married Claude F. Phillips on June 23, 1951 and they have enjoyed over 69 years together. Clarabelle was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren and baking her much loved cookies.
Remembering a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother are husband, Claude, son, Keith Phillips of Fairfield, daughters, Linda (Gordon) Simpson of Fairfield and Karen (Ron) Vest of Orchardville, brother, Leslie Ewing of Fairfield, four grandchildren, Amy (Derek) Demaret, Michelle (Geoff) Bunting, Kali Jo (Braden) Pool, Colton Johnson, four great grandchildren, sister-in-law Pat Ewing, and niece, Sharon Withrow. Preceding Clarabelle in death were her parents and brother, Kenneth Ewing.
Graveside services for Clarabelle Phillips will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2020 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. There will be no visitation. Friends and family are to go directly to the cemetery. Please follow the CDC guidelines with social distancing and the wearing of masks. Memorials may be made to Wabash Christian Village’s Activity Fund and will be accepted at the service or at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield who are in charge of the arrangements.
