78-year-old Fairfield, Illinois resident Curt Masterson died 5:05 p.m. Friday September 21, 2012. He was the Business Manager for the Laborer's Union for over 35 years and member of the King's Chapel Church where he served as a former trustee. Curt also served his country during the Korean Conflict. Curt was born February 8, 1934 in Hamilton County, Illinois to Carson and Lottie Becker Masterson. He was united in marriage to Betty Musgrave on June 28, 1958 in Fairfield, Illinois. Survivors include his wife Betty Masterson of Fairfield; 2 sons Marty Masterson and his wife Kim of Fairfield and Rodney Masterson of Fairfield; and 4 grandchildren Ryan, Zach, Logan, and Caleb Masterson. His parents and 1 sister preceded Curt in death. A funeral service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield with Brother Lawrence Ward officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176 and Wayne Memorial VFW Post 4535. Visitation will be conducted at the funeral home Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial may be made to the King's Chapel Church and envelopes are available at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield.
