72-year-old Chicago, Illinois resident Dennis Terry Sook died at 7:23 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at North Western Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Dennis was an actor, acting on stage and as a playwriter. His credits include "A Long Days Journey Into The Night" with John Carradine, One Thousand Clowns" with Doug McClure, "Broken Up" with Richard Egan, "Cactus Flower" with Anne Francis, "Good Bye Ghost" with Claude Akins, and "Send Me No Flowers" where he met his wife Rachael Slagel Stephens. Dennis wrote the plays "The Food Of Love" and "Womb Of Time". He also had been on stage with Van Johnson. He also did theatrecal readings with the Shakespeare Project of Chicago. Dennis also served his country in the U.S. Army.
Dennis was born April 29, 1945 in Marshall, Minnesota to Delbert Marvin Sook and Margaret Goodmundson. He was united in marriage to Rachel Slagel Stephens.
Survivors include his wife Rachel Stephens Sook of Chicago, Illinois; 4 sisters Georgia Kerkaert and her husband Camiel of Alexandria, Minnesota, Marilyn Licari of Sitka, Alaska, Beverly Kucera of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Donna Jorgensen of Edina, Minnesota; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and a sister.
Graveside services for Dennis Terry Sook will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday November 3, 2017 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois with Brother Carroll Kakac officiating.
There will be no visitation. Family and friends should go directly to the cemetery.
