Donald Dye Obituary

78-year-old Fairfield, Illinois resident, Donald Dale Dye, died Thursday, Nov. 24 in the Emergency Room of Fairfield Memorial Hospital. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service at Centralia, Illinois. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Anthony Wayne American Legion Post of Fairfield. Donald was born August 28, 1933 in Geff, Illinois to Jessie and Mabel Miller Dye. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Brown on October 26, 1958 in Geff. Survivors include his wife Carolyn; 2 daughters, Debbie Martin and her husband Scott of Fairfield and Donna Vaughan of Fairfield; a sister, Alyce Thompson of Addison, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Crystal Ellis, Allissa Keoughan and her husband Marty, and Amy Sager and her husband Brad all of Fairfield, and Jimmy Ellis of West Salem, Illinois; and 10 great grandchildren, Caleb Makenzie, Matthew Ellis, Patricia McTaggart, Tiffany Rister, Ella & Emeri Sager, and Jacinda, Jerek & Talan Keoughan; as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald & Jeri Brown of Mississippi, Kathryn Rush of Springerton, Illinois, Dale & Kay Barnard of Fairfield, Lester & Barbara Merritt of Fairfield, Linda Balsover of Fairfield, Dennis & Debbie Brown of Fairfield, and Elma Dye in California. His father parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters preceded Donald in death. Funeral services for Donald Dale Dye will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Nales Funeral Home of Fairfield with Brother Curtis Rush officiating. Burial will be at Oak Valley Cemetery of Geff, Illinois with military rites provided by the Wayne Memorial VFW Post 4535 and Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176. Visitation will be Monday, November 28 from 12 Noon until the time of the service at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.
