85-year-old Donald "Peanut" Vincent of Fairfield, Illinois died at 8:30 p.m. Thursday June 28, 2012 at the V. A. Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. He was a member of the Albion-Browns American Legion and served as manager of the Legion Post in Albion for several years. He was also the lead guitarist for several bands in the area. Donald was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the U.S. Army. Donald was born August 26, 1926 in Albion, Illinois to Bertrand and Bertha Rector Vincent. Survivors include his companion Mary Moon of Fairfield, 2 daughters Diana Travers of Fairfield, Illinois and Debra Ile of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. His parents preceded Donald in death. Graveside services with full military rites for Donald "Peanut" Vincent will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Graceland Cemetery in Albion with Kent McTaggart officiating. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield is in charge of all the arrangements.
