90-year-old former Albion, Illinois resident Donelda "Donna" L. Snidle of Lawrenceville, Illinois and Angola, Indiana died 6:35 p.m. Thursday November 1, 2012 at the United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville after a lengthy illness. She and her husband owned Paul's Country Store Antiques in Angola, Indiana from the late 1950s to the early 1970s when they retired and traveled before settling down in Hudson, Indiana. Prior to that they were owners of Snidle's Dry Cleaning in Albion, Illinois. Doona and Paul finally settled down in Albion in the late 1980s where they remained until needing living assistance. Donna was a member of the Angola Church of Christ. She was named to the National Honor Society at Angola High School where she graduated in 1941. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Donna made many friends through the years while in business and after. She never knew a stranger. She received her joy from helping others and keeping busy. She was a talented and beautiful lady. Donelda was born June 2, 1922 in Angola, Indiana to Arnold and Loretta Fern Fifer Bell. She was united in marriage to Paul Snidle on August 31, 1941 in Angola. Survivors include 1 son Glenn Snidle and his wife Linda of Browns, Illinois; 1 daughter Sharon Baer of Bloomington, Indiana; a brother Ned Fifer and his wife Sally of Tampa, Florida; 3 grandchildren Stacy Adams of Bloomington, Indiana, Robin Snidle of Garrett, Indiana, and Aaron Snidle of Illinois; and 4 great grandchildren Paul and Ella Adams, Anatasia and Nick Wilison; as well as many nephews and nieces. Her parents, husband Paul, stepfather Vern Fifer, 1 brother Kenneth Bell, 2 sisters Jo Ann Eggleston and Arnola May Castle; and 1 grandson Stephen Shayne Fetter preceded Donelda in death. A funeral service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Nales Funeral Home in Albion with Pastor Sally Legg officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be conducted at the funeral home Monday, November 5, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
