Dora E. (Moats) Schnell

77 year old Fairfield resident, Dora E. Schnell passed away at Cisne Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Cisne, Illinois, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.

Dora was born on November 24, 1946 to Charlie and Genevieve J. (Elliott) Moats in rural Mt. Erie. Dora  married Allen Schnell on May 3, 1980.  Dora worked along side her husband with Schnell’s Greenhouse, she was also very proud of owning Aunt Dora’s Buffet where she was known for her fried chicken. Dora attended Old Spring Chapel in Springerton, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband;  Allen, 3 sister; Joselene Smith, Mava Moats & Mary Moats, all of Fairfield. 1 niece; Larissa (David) Branstetter of Evansville, Indiana and 1 great niece, Ava and 1 great nephew, Walter.   

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother; Gerald Ray.

Funeral services for Dora E. Schnell will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial in the McKendree Cemetery, South of Mt. Erie.  Visitation will be Saturday morning, 10:00 a.m. to service time.
