Dorcas (Judge) Smith

Dorcas Smith, 95, passed away Sunday morning, October 3, 2021 at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Grayville, Illinois. Dorcas was born November 6, 1925 to Grant and Maude (Hortin) Judge in Edwards County. She married Roy C. Smith on June 1, 1946 and they enjoyed 62 years together before his passing on February 21, 2009. Dorcas was a homemaker and had been a very active member of West Village Christian Church in Albion.

Dorcas is survived by her sons, Leslie (Felicia) Smith of Albion, Illinois, James (Fressie) Smith of Crossville, Illinois; her daughter, LeeAnn (Steve) Hering of Browns, Illinois; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Mary Rosalie Guyot.

Graveside services for Dorcas Smith will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Graceland Cemetery in Albion. There will be no visitation. Friends and family are to go directly to the cemetery. Please follow the CDC guidelines with social distancing. Memorials may be made to Edwards County Senior Citizens Center and will be accepted at the service or at Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion who are in charge of the arrangements.
