Former Albion resident 84 year old Dorothy Rae Inskeep of Roseville, California and Olney, Illinois died August 10, 2011 at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Roseville, California. She served as a bookkeeper for the East Richland School District where she learned how to use computers. After retirement, Rae further developed her computer skills in computer graphics, photography, and web design/hosting. She served as a volunteer administrator on a web site for Senior Citizens. Rae was born October 3, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Lowry D. and Mattie Edwards Barnes. She was raised in Albion and graduated from Albion High School in 1943. In November of 1946 Rae was united in marriage to Joseph Howard Inskeep. She and Joe raised three children in Albion and moved to Olney after the youngest graduated from high school. Rae is survived by three children, Phillip Inskeep, Deborah McKay, and Rodney Inskeep all of Olney; a sister, Frances Walters of Thornton, Colorado, a sister-in-law, Fernanda Morrow of Greenfield, Illinois; five grandchildren, Benjamin and Justin Inskeep of Olney, Kelsie Sterchi of Indianapolis, Rachel McKay of Olney, and Kory Inskeep serving now in the Navy; five great grandchildren, Mikaela, Joseph, Raley, and Jonathon Inskeep, and Knox Sterchi; and two step great grandchildren, Elijah and Grace Masterson as well as her companion Richard Carstensen of Roseville, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two brothers Walter and John Barnes. A celebration of life for Dorothy Rae Inskeep will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion. Visitation will be conducted at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Zion Hill, a family cemetery, west of Albion. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of Albion.
