Dorothy O'Daniel Medler Dorothy O'Daniel Medler, age 96, of Sparta, IL, formerly of Albion, IL, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. in her home.

Dorothy was born on August 14, 1921 in Ellery, IL, a daughter to Edward and Sarah (Sheraden) Pettigrew. In 1940, she married William T. "Bill" O'Daniel and he preceded her in death on August 12, 1991. Later, she married Arnold Medler and he also preceded her in death. She had worked for over 30 years as a clothing supervisor at Johnny Manufacturing, Albion, IL. She lived in Zephyr Hills, FL for 22 years before moving to Sparta, IL. Dorothy was a member of the First Baptist Church, Albion, IL and always enjoyed spending time with her family and quilting.

Survivors include her son, Cecil O'Daniel of Crossville, TN; her daughter, Lena (Connie) O'Daniel Wiggins of Sparta, IL; eleven grandchildren; sixty-five great-grandchildren; and forty-two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William "Bill" O'Daniel and Arnold Medler; a son, Allen Medler; a brother; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church, Ellery, IL on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Steve Livengood and Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Ellery, IL.

Friends may call at Bethel United Methodist Church, Ellery, IL on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Cemetery, Ellery, Illinoid.
