97 year old Wayne City resident Dorothy J. Weber, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at her residence. Dorothy was born on February 19, 1925 to Fred and Effie M. (Houchin) Martin in Wapella, IL.
She married Lester Weber on November 16, 1943 in Hempstead, NY and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2008.Dorothy was a long time secretary at Sims Grade School. After retiring Dorothy loved quilting. She spent hours making beautiful quilts. Dorothy was a member of the Arrington Prairie Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include 4 sons; David (Liz) Weber of Wayne City, Dale (Dyni) Weber of El Paso, IL, Steven (Diana) Weber of Wayne City, Allen (Sue) Patterson of Beaufort, SC. 1 daughter; Christine (Harry Ed) Windland of Bluford. 1 brother in law; Donnie Joe Weber of San Antonio, TX. 1 sister in law; Mary Martin of Waynesville, IL. 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren. Along with several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, her husband Lester, 11 brothers and sisters, 1 daughter and son in law; Laura & Brent Garner, 1 grandson; Tony Weber and 1 great great grandson.
Funeral services for Dorothy J. Weber will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City. Burial will follow in the Thomason Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. to service time at the Archie L. Sanders Chapel on Friday.
