94-year-old Fairfield, Illinois resident Dorothy Wilson died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi, Illinois. She and her husband Russell had purchased the Your Flower Shop from her parents in 1953. Owning it for over 60 years, they later sold the shop to their daughter Melissa Garrison. Dorothy was a florist for several years after Melissa bought it.
Dorothy was born March 8, 1924 in Fairfield, Illinois to Earl Hollinger and Vivian Burgess Hollinger. She was united in marriage January 29, 1947 in Fairfield, Illinois to Russell Wilson.
Survivors include her husband Russell Wilson of Fairfield, Illinois; 3 daughters Melissa Garrison and her husband Jerry of Fairfield, Illinois, Susan Adams and her husband Loren of Fairfield, Illinois, and Jo Wilson and her husband Fred Klehm of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; a sister Marge Plumb of Fort Worth, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois. A private family graveside service will follow the visitation.
Memorials may be made to the Wabash Christian Village Memory Care Unit and will be accepted at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.
