88-year-old Albion, Illinois resident Dwight Saxe died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Mt. Carmel, Illinois. He was a retired farmer and employee of the Postal Service for 28 years. Dwight served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the VFW, and the American Legion. Dwight was born March 31, 1924 in Ellery, Illinois to John and Isadora Shaw Saxe. He was united in marriage to Betty Hudson on October 16, 1947 at Golden Gate, Illinois. Survivors include a son Kenneth Saxe and his wife Teresa of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; 3 daughters Linda D. Saxe of Harrisburg, Illinois, Elaine Zetina of Haubstadt, Indiana, and Mary Beth Smith and her husband Steve of Albion, Illinois; a sister-in-law Marge Saxe of Olney, Illinois; as well as 6 grandchildren John Zetina, Benjamin Zetina, Jonathan Saxe, Courtney Saxe, Kendra Saxe, and Gabe Smith; and 1 great great grandchild Elijah Zetina. Dwight was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, 1 sister and 2 brothers. Services for Dwight Saxe will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Nales Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois with Brother Kirk Rowe officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery of Albion, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Nales Funeral Home of Albion, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Oak View Villas or the Edwards County Sports Athletics fund and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
