Elaine M. (Hart) Sullivan

Elaine M. Sullivan of Fairfield passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, July 9, 2021 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital’s Skilled Care Unit. Elaine was born on June 13, 1947 in Witherbee, New York to Sherman and Ellen (Dwyer) Hart. Elaine had worked for Uniquely Rustique in Fairfield prior to retiring. Elaine was an avid crafter, was always up for a day of shopping and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She had been attending The Church of Nazarene in Fairfield.

Elaine is survived by her beloved daughters Michelle Doty Whatley and husband Brad of Chicago and Melanie Doty Holmes and husband Mark of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother Tommy (Kay) Hart of Florida; sisters, Mary Ellen (Dickie) Simpson of New York, Mary Ann (Brent) Ida of New York, Julie (Kenneth) Bumgardner of North Carolina, and Susie (Tom) Colvin of Fairfield; four dear grandchildren, Lucas and Rowan Whatley and Megan and Matthew Holmes; many nieces and nephews including special niece Tina Lee (Scott Atwood) and her children Garin and Clint Lee of Fairfield. Preceding Elaine in death were her parents and brothers Billy and Jimmy Hart.

In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, she will be cremated with family services and burial to be held at a later date in New York. Memorials may be made in memory of Elaine to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield who are assisting the family.
