79 year old Albion, Illinois resident Evelyn R. Compton died at 6:07 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her residence. She worked at Champion Laboratories, Johnnye Manufacturing, and IGA in Albion. Evelyn was a member of the Samaria Baptist Church.

Evelyn was born June 19, 1937 in Albion, Illinois to Charlie Clark and Hula Neaville Clark. She was united in marriage December 24, 1954 to Carl Compton who died December 1, 2002.

Survivors include 2 sons Johnny Compton and his wife Patricia of Albion, Illinois and Rusty Compton of Albion, Illinois; 2 daughters Terry Compton of Albion, Illinois and Tammy Stearns and her husband Ron of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; 3 brothers Russell Clark of Alton, Illinois, Charles Clark of Bluford, Illinois and Dale Clark of Sacramento, California; 2 sisters Virginia Farmer of Fairfield, Illinois and Mary Chalcraft of Mt. Carmel, Illinois and 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, 3 children, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services for Evelyn R. Compton will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery of Albion, Illinois.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois.
