Frances A. (Mann) Roosevelt

90 year old Albion resident, Frances A. Roosevelt passed away in to the arms of her loving Savior on Friday morning, November 13, 2020 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

Frances was born to John and Minnie (Neal) Mann on June 4, 1930 in Ellery. She married Marvin “Pete” Roosevelt on June 23, 1948 in Morganfield, Kentucky and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2019.

Frances had worked several years at Johnny Manufacturing, served a term as Edwards County Clerk along with working many years in the County Clerk’s office as a clerk. She served as President for over twenty years for the Edwards County Senior Citizens. Frances was quite crafty from making beautiful sweatshirts to baking and decorating wedding cakes; However, she would be the first to tell you that the most joyous way to spend her time was with all of her grandchildren as they were indeed the apples of her eye. Frances was a lifelong member of the Little Prairie Christian Church and also attended the First Presbyterian Church in Albion.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are, son Phil (Kim) Roosevelt of Albion and daughters, Janice (Steve) Shaw of Albion and Jeanette (Bruce) Lear of West Salem; nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one foster great grandson, 1 great, great grandchild with one on the way and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Frances in death were her parents, husband Pete and three sisters, Elsie Bunting, Mary Don Hortin, and Ruth Barnes.

Graveside services for Frances Roosevelt will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Graceland Cemetery with Brother David Shain and Brother Tom Cater officiating. There will be no visitation. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Please follow the CDC guidelines of social distancing and the wearing of masks. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the graveside or Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion who are in charge of the arrangements.
