Frank E. Buchanan, Sr.

84 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Frank Eldon Buchanan, Sr. passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at his residence in rural Fairfield, Illinois.

Frank was born on May 17, 1939 to Clarence Deward and Edna Mae (Sork) Buchanan, Sr.  Frank married Beverly Joyce Spray on April 15, 1965 in Fairfield, Illinois and they enjoyed over 55 years together working on their farm and raising their family.  Joyce preceded him in death on November 28, 2020. 

Frank attended the Canaan Bridge Church and was a member of the Farm Bureau and former board member. 

Frank is survived by 1 son;  Frank Eldon (Susan) Buchanan, Jr. of Fairfield, 4 daughters;  Sonya Grigsby of Tyler, Texas, Rhonda Buchanan of Fairfield, Lisa Ewing of Evansville, Indiana and Bobbi Jo Buchanan of Fairfield, Illinois, 8 grandchildren 2 step grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Clarence Buchanan, Jr.

Funeral services for Frank Eldon Buchanan, Sr. will be held, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post 176 American Legion and Wayne Memorial Post, 4535 VFW.  Visitation will be Thursday, 12;00 (noon) to service time on Thursday.

Memorials may be made in memory of Frank E. Buchanan, Sr.  to the American Legion Post 176 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
