84-year-old Albion, Illinois resident Geneva Powell died 8:10 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville, Indiana. She worked at Rest Haven Manor in Albion for 15 years and was a member of the Olive Congregational Church. Geneva was born November 25, 1928 in Beardon, Oklahoma to George W. and Lola Mae Scott Morphis. She was united in marriage to James W. Powell who preceded her in death on June 24, 1983. Surviving are 5 sons Robert Powell and his wife Donna of Albion, Illinois, Thomas Powell of Pinnellas Park, Florida, Bill Powell and his wife Carolyn of Olney, Illinois, Charles Powell and his wife Patricia of Albion, Illinois, and Ronnie Powell of Albion, Illinois; 3 brothers Grover Morphis of Bible Grove, Illinois, Hugh Morphis of Kingman, Arizona, and Owen Morphis of Joplin, Missouri; 1 sister Virginia Yett of Lompoc, California; as well as 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, husband James W., 2 sons, 1 daughter, 1 grandson, and 1 great granddaughter. Services for Geneva Powell will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Nales Funeral Home of Albion, Illinois with Brother Greg Winemiller officiating. Visitation will be conducted from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery of Albion, Illinois. Memorials may be given to family and envelopes will be available at the funeral home
