Geneva Read

93 year-old Fairfield, Illinois resident Geneva Read died 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her residence. She was a homemaker and avid quilter.

Geneva was born March 24, 1924 in Tuscola, Illinois to Orville Young and Doris Grove Young. She was united in marriage March 9, 1940 in Morganfield, Kentucky to Charles Read who died October 25, 2006.

Survivors include one daughter: Carolyn Legg and husband Terry of Fairfield; one sister: Shirley Hines and husband Jerry of Tuscola, Illinois; three grandchildren: Clinton Legg and his wife Debbie of Fairfield, Illinois, Amy Legg of Branson, Missouri and Rachel Jenkins and her husband Robert of Chesterfield, Missouri. Five great-grandsons: Matthew and Ethan Legg, Benjamin, Brendan and Ethan Jenkins also survive.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and husband Charles.

Funeral services for Geneva Read will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with Brother Tom Pope officiating. Burial will be at Bovee Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Memorials can be made to the Geff Christian Church and envelopes will be available at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois.
