96-year-old Albion, Illinois resident Genevieve McKinzie died 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Rest Haven Manor in Albion, Illinois. She was a housewife and a maker of quilts. She was also a farm wife and an avid gardener. Genevieve was a member of the West Village Christian Church. Genevieve was born February 7, 1916 in Edwards County, Illinois to James and Nellie Knust Fildes. She was united in marriage to Lyman McKinzie on November 28, 1934 in Edwards County, Illinois. Surviving are 1 son Jim McKinzie and his wife Nyla of Albion, Illinois; 2 daughters Shirley Tribe and her husband George of Albion, Illinois and Pat Rigg and her husband Dave of Albion, Illinois; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyman, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Services for Genevieve McKinzie will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2013 at Nales Funeral Home in Albion, Illinois with Brother Dave Rigg officiating. Burial will be in the West Village Cemetery. Visitation will be conducted from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion. Memorials may be made to West Village Cemetery Fund and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
