88-year-old Fairfield, Illinois resident George W. Bone, Sr. died 2:15 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at his residence. He was a surgical technician for the Elgin State Mental Health Hospital of Elgin, Illinois. George also served his country in the Army and Navy during World War II and was a member of the Holiness Rescue Mission. George was born February 22, 1924 in Carlyle, Illinois to Oscar and Elsie Wilkey Bone. He was united in marriage to Mary Armstrong in July 1946 in Fairfield, Illinois. Surviving are 2 sons George Bone, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Fairfield, Illinois and Philip Bone of Olney, Illinois; 2 daughters Robin Thomason of Fairfield, Illinois and Linda Hillyard and her husband James of Fairfield, Illinois; a brother Wayne Bone of Fairfield, Illinois; 17 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary, 1 daughter, and 8 brothers. Services for George Bone, Sr. will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with Brothers Ron Mills and Dallas Johnston officiating. Visitation will be conducted from 12 Noon to service time Monday, December 10, 2012 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Fairfield, Illinois with full military rites conducted by the Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176 and the Wayne Memorial VFW Post 4535.
