Goldie I. Lakes

90-year-old former Fairfield resident Goldie I. Lakes of Mooresville, Indiana died Monday August 13, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor in Mooresville, Indiana. She worked several years at THLESLNG Veneer and Automotive Armature. Goldie was born February 26, 1922 in Fairfield, Illinois to Homer Sr. and Mary Ella Bell Smith. She was united in marriage to Herbert Lakes on April 23, 1971. Survivors include 2 sons Gene Lakes of Stanton, Kentucky and Sandy Lakes and his wife Julie of Mooresville, Indiana; 3 daughters Bonnie McKinney of McKee, Kentucky, Brenda Lakes of Nashville, Indiana, Julie Smith and her husband Randy of Trafalgar, Indiana; a brother Homer Smith, Jr. of Fairfield, Illinois; 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters preceded Goldie in death. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation will be conducted from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
