Hershel L. Cullison

Hershel Cullison, age 70 of Grayville passed away Sunday evening, April 11, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Hershel was born in White County on January 6, 1951 to Verdane and Corene (Bassett) Cullison. Hershel was a mechanic in Albion running a shop north of the square with two friends for several years. He married Margaret Gibson in 1996 and together they enjoyed their combined family and many happy times until her passing on September 23, 2020. Hershel was a devoted family man and found his greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, listening to country music, drinking beer, fishing, and playing as many pranks on people as possible. Hershel was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Grayville and enjoyed attending the in-house church services at Meadowood Nursing Home while a resident there these past few years.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories are three sons, Robert Gibson and Brandon Cullison of Mt. Carmel, and Vance Nease; five daughters, Corenea Cullison of Roxana, Wendy Odom and Heather Bobbitt of Belmont, Colleen Dawson of Albion, and Carrie Hatton; one sister, Linda (Ron) Elliott of Noble; several grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews including an especially close niece, Amanda Cullison. Preceding Hershel in death were his parents, brothers Noland and Norman, and dear wife, Margaret.

Funeral services for Hershel Cullison will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Please remember the CDC recommended guidelines of social distancing and masks.
