Irene (Auvil) Tucker

84 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident, Irene Tucker passed away Thursday, March 7,  2024 at her residence.

Irene was born on December 21, 1939 in Wayne County, Illinois to Clarence and Gaynell (Farris) Auvil.  Irene worked for Dr. Konarski and Dr. Marks at the Fairfield Medical Center for several years. Irene was the village clerk at Geff, Illinois for many years. She was a member of the Oak Valley Baptist Church.   

Survivors include 3 sons; Kenny (Jonni) Tucker of Johnsonville, Roger (Linda) Tucker of Fairfield, Rob (Michelle) Tucker of Fairfield. 2 daughters; Rhonda (Mike) Hart of Fairfield and Debbie (Steve) Phillips of Fairfield. 1 brother; Lawrence ”Sonny” (Katie) Auvil of Flora, Illinois.  14 grandchildren; Chris (Rebeccah) Tucker, Rodney Tucker & Morgan McCoy, Scott (Paula) Phillips, Shaun (Amanda) Phillips, Andrea Phillips, Tamela (Jasent) Freeman, Lindsey (Dan) McVay, Erica (Bobby) Burris, Nick (Ashley) Tucker, Ashlea (Eli) Devoy, Brooke (Matt) McCurdy, Breanne Medler, Marissa (Justin) Townsend and Derek (Alyssa) Tucker. 28 great grandchildren; David & Beau Tucker, Jayden Stuessel, Chase Phillips, Danika Phillips, Brenna and Kiera Freeman, Addy King, Colton & Tinley Burris, Connor & Camden McVay, Jaylynn (Dawson) Stewart, Layne Tucker,  McKayla & Jalissa Byrns, Xavier & Terrance Baker, Kenley & Kade Devoy, Kale Gregory, Lydia Medler, Braxton Cotton, Hudson McCurdy, Jaeden Townsend, Landon Zurliene, Tucker Townsend & Capri Tucker.      

Preceding her in death were her parents, 2 sisters; Kay Deal and Alberta Robertson, 1 brother; Albert Auvil and 1 grand daughter; Amanda Tucker.

Funeral services for Irene Tucker will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church with interment to follow at Oak Valley Cemetery, West of Geff, Illinois.  Visitation will be Sunday, at 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Memorials can be made to the Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
