Jack Morrison Obituary

Jack C. Morrison, formerly of Geneva, Illinois and most recently of Normal, IL died peacefully at Heritage Health in Normal, Illinois at the age of 95, with family at his side.

Jack is survived by his children Jim Morrison of Dundee, Illinois, David Morrison of Fort Myers, Florida, and Beth Morrison Cash (Eric) of Hudson, Illinois; Grandchildren Jessica Morrison of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, Sam (Ashley) Cash of Bloomington, Illinois and Emily Cash of Normal, Illinois.  He married Lorna Springer on December 28, 1952.  They celebrated 63 years of marriage before her passing in January of 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna Springer Morrison, and his parents.

Jack was born on May 19, 1927, in Burnt Prairie, Illinois to Martin T. and Helen E. (Haefele) Morrison. He graduated from Fairfield Community High School and enlisted in the Army in 1945, serving in WW 2 in Germany as part of the Finance Department. After his military service, he attended the University of Illinois, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1950.  He was a member of Beta Alpha Psi and Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternities. 

Jack was employed by Stewart-Warner Corporation in Chicago, Illinois as VP, Finance & Administration, Treasurer and Corporation Director.  He held professional memberships with the Financial Executive Institute and Machinery & Allied Products Institute, along with service memberships with The Optimists Club, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the VFW.

As a founding member in 1971 of the Fox Valley Christian Church in Batavia, Illinois, he ministered to many people as an Elder and Teacher.  If you wish to make a memorial contribution, please consider a gift to the Fox Valley Christian Church.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Burnt Prairie Cemetery with military honors provided by Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176 and the Wayne Memorial Post 4535 VFW.  Funeral arrangements are being made with the support of Nale’s Funeral Home, Fairfield, Illinois. Final interment will be in Burnt Prairie, Illinois following the graveside service.

Memorials can be made to the Fox Valley Christian Church.

Jack’s family wishes to share sincere thanks with the caregivers at The Village of Mercy Creek and Heritage Health in Normal, Illinois. He will be dearly missed on this earth until we are joined together again in heaven.
