Jacquelin J. Simms, age 91 of Albion, passed away Thursday morning, August 26, 2021 at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Mt. Carmel. Jacquelin was born in Edwards County on February 11, 1930 to O.A. and Lucy (West) Collins. Jacquelin married James F. Simms at the First Christian Church in Albion on June 12, 1948 and they enjoyed nearly 69 years together before his passing on January 27, 2017. Jacquelin was a devoted housewife and mother, working alongside her husband on the farm where she has lived since she was 18 years old. Jacquelin was a member of Little Prairie Christian Church of Albion.
Survivors include children, James Michael and wife Glenna Simms of Albion and Carol Ann and husband Mark Criss of Terre Haute, Indiana; four grandchildren, Gina, John and wife Mary, Veronica, and Molly; several nieces and nephews along with dear friend, Barbara Locke of Mt. Carmel. Preceding Jacquelin in death were her parents, beloved husband James, and sister Carol Leuty.
Graveside services for Jacquelin Simms are to be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Albion. Friends and Family are asked to go directly to the cemetery. There is no visitation. Condolences may be left for the family at www.nalesfuneralhome.com. Nale’s Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of the arrangements.
