James F. Simms

91 year old Albion, Illinois, Illinois resident James F. Simms died at 11:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 in Evansville, Indiana. He was a farmer. James served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Little Prairie Christian Church.

James was born October 2, 1925 to Allen Simms and Ella Oakley Simms. He was united in marriage June 12, 1948 to Jacquelin Collins Simms.

Survivors include his wife Jacquelin Simms of Albion, Illinois; a son Mike Simms of Albion, Illinois; a daughter Carol Chris and her husband Mark of Terre Haute, Indiana; a sister-in-law Jean Simms of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and 4 grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.

Graveside services for James F. Simms will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Graceland Cemetery of Albion, Illinois with Brother Kirk Rowe officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW Posts.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends should go directly to the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the National MS Society and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
