Janet E. Steiner

83-year-old Fairfield, Illinois resident Janet E. Steiner died 11:28 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was a longtime secretary to Bob Cavney and Dee Monge. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, the Every Wednesday Club, Friends of the Library, and Indiana Eastern Star for 54 years. Janet was born August 5, 1929 in Washington, Indiana to Otto and Flura Steen Naylor. She was united in marriage to Lester Steiner on October 30, 1949 in Evansville, Indiana. Surviving are a brother Jim Naylor of Columbus, Indiana; as well as several nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester Steiner, and 1 brother. Services for Janet E. Steiner will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois. Visitation will be conducted from 9:00 a.m. to service time Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Fairfield, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Library and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
