Jeff "Jake" Eckleberry

86-year-old Fairfield, Illinois resident Jeff "Jake" Eckleberry died at 3:32 a.m. Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Mt. Vernon Health Care in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was a maintenance worker in several places in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served his country in the U.S. Army.

Jeff was born October 18, 1930 in Wayne County, Illinois to John E. Eckleberry and Luttie (Harrison) Eckleberry.

Survivors include a sister Sarah Allen and her husband Charles of Palymar, Indiana.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, a son, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

Graveside services for Jeff "Jake" Eckleberry will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017 with Brother Buddy Simpson officiating at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois. Full military rites will be conducted by the Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176 and Wayne Memorial VFW Post 4535.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends should go directly to the cemetery.
