John M. Klaffer

59 year old Geff resident, John M. Klaffer, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his residence.

John was born on January 13, 1964 in Alton, Illinois to John C. Klaffer Sr. and Geneva (Vaughan) Klaffer. John married Cynthia Englebright on Feb. 26, 1983 at the Merriam Community Church East of Fairfield. He had worked in the oil fields as a pipe tester, had worked on the rail road and recently had been setting up mobile homes for Jerry Waters and Mt. Vernon Dream Homes.

Survivors include his wife; Cynthia of Geff, mother; Geneva Klaffer of Fairfield, 2 daughters; Talisa (and fiancée Ethan Church) Klaffer and Kelli Klaffer both of Fairfield, step son; Neal (Samantha) Toombs of Clarksville, TN, step daughter; Sherri Shelby of Mattoon, IL, brother; Ed (Tammy) Klaffer of Golden Gate, 2 sisters; Nancy Klaffer of Jacksonville, IL and Brenda Klaffer of Paducah, KY, 4 grandchildren; Eric Shelby, Kaitlyn Shelby, Dakoda Bailey, and Jade Klaffer.

John was preceded in death by his father, John C. Klaffer Sr.

Funeral services for John Klaffer will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at Nale’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Nale’s.

Memorials may be made to help with the funeral expenses and will be accepted at the time of service or at Nale’s Funeral Home.
