Joyce M. Potter

86 year old Albion, IL. resident Joyce  M. Potter passed away Monday, October 2, 2023 at Cisne Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Cisne, Illinois

Joyce was born January 3, 1937 in Grayville, Illinois to Thelma Jackson. Thelma married E.B. (Kelly) Talbert who helped raise her.

She married Merril Richard Potter on March 5, 1953.

Joyce was a well known local artist, who loved to paint. She was a baby sitter to many to the children in the Albion area.  For a while, Joyce worked at the local Dairy Queen, using her artistic talent in decorating cakes.

Joyce was a member of the House of Prayer.

Survivors include her husband, Merill Richard Potter, 4 sons; Michael Potter of Grand Junction, Michigan, Gary Potter of Fairfield and Larry Potter of Fairfield, Illinois, Mark (Francie) Potter of Mt. Erie, Illinois.  a daughter in law, Edna Potter of Cowling, Illinois.  3 grandchildren; Megan (Matt) Byrns of Mt. Carmel, Illinois, Brendan and Samuel Potter, both of Mt. Erie, Illinois. A special granddaughter, Andrea Williams of Fairfield, Illinois

Preceding her death were her mother and step father and one son, Merill Richard Potter, Jr.

Graveside services for Joyce M. Potter will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 at Graceland Cemetery in Albion, Illinois.  Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.  There will be no visitation.
