Leona M. Thomason

89 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Leona M. Thomason died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, February 12, 2017 at her residence. She worked at the Dress Factory for several years. Later she was a caregiver for several people including Mrs. Kincaid.

Leona was born July 22, 1927 in Wayne City, Illinois to Edmond Oscar Thomason and Gladys I. Trotter. She was united in marriage at Sims, Illinois November 9, 1946 to William Donald Thomason who died September 28, 1962.

Survivors include 3 sons Rick Thomason of Fairfield, Illinois, Darrell Thomason of Fairfield, Illinois and Dwain Thomason and his wife Cathy of Fairfield, Illinois; a daughter LaDonna Hoskins and her husband Chris of Geff, Illinois; 2 brothers Glenard Thomason of Flora, Illinois and Wilford Thomason and his wife Pat of Farmington, New Mexico; and 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, a son, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Graveside services for Leona M. Thomason will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2017 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois with Jeremy Thomason officiating.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends should go directly to the cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the SSM Hospice or the Fairfield Little League Baseball Association and envelopes will be available at the cemetery or Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois.
