Linda L. (Coffelt) Tennyson

Linda Coffelt Tennyson, 70, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on June 13, 2023 at her residence.

Linda was born on October 1, 1952, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, to Cortez and Ona (Stewart) Coffelt. Linda was a strong Christian who loved going to church. Linda married Gilbert Tennyson on June 29, 1985 in Fairfield, IL.

Linda is survived by her husband Gilbert, a son Robert Tennyson, step-son Nathan Tennyson, step-daughter Cara Vaught, a sister, Nancy McClellan, a brother, Ernie (Lois) Coffelt, all of Fairfield.  3 step-grandchildren, with  several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Margaret Ewing, and brothers-in-laws Johnnie McClellan and Jackie Ewing Sr.

Linda attended Boyleston Grade School as a child and later attended Fairfield Community High School. She worked at Johnny Manufacturing in Albion and Fairfield Garment Factory.  She later became a C.N.A. and worked at Way Fair for several years. In the 1990s and 2000s, she devoted her time to raising her son and worked as a housekeeper.

Funeral Services for Linda Tennyson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023 at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation will be held 12:00 p.m. to service time at Nale’s, with burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to S.S.M. Hospice and will be accepted at the Funeral Home.
