78-year-old Albion resident, Lois J. Goodson died at 1:59 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2012 at her home. She had been a telephone operator and had previously worked at Meissners and Champion Laboratories. Lois was a member of the Olive Congregational Church and served as a major worker at the Edwards County Historical Society. Lois was born October 29, 1933 in Albion to Albert and Ella Medler Simms. On February 15, 1953 she was united in marriage to Allen "Bud" Goodson. Survivors include a son, Allen Goodson, Jr. and his wife Renee of Allendale; two brothers, Robert Simms of Mt. Carmel and Larry Simms of West Salem; a sister, Wanda Roosevelt of Albion and two grandchildren. Her parents, husband, 2 brothers Don and Bills Simms and an infant sibling preceded her in death. Services for Lois J. Goodson will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 3 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion with Brother Rex Gill officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Thursday evening, February 2 at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion. Memorials may be made to the Edwards County Historical Society.
