91-year-old former Fairfield, Illinois resident, Marie Tribe of Decatur, Illinois died at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Fair Haven Christian Home in Decatur. She was a self-employed seamstress and had worked for Tickner's Men's Wear in Fairfield. Marie was a member of the New Hope General Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School. She also served as treasurer of the Mission Society and did mission work in Jamaica. Marie was born April 21, 1920 in Cisne, Illinois to Clarence and Lora Bratton Kiger. On August 12, 1939 she was united in marriage to Owen Tribe in St. Louis, Missouri. Survivors include 4 sons: James Tribe and his wife Mary of Decatur, Illinois, Jack Tribe and his wife Jo of Green Bay, Wisconsin, John Tribe and his wife Lisa of Fairfield, Illinois, and Jerry Tribe and his wife Patricia of Lake Forest, California; 2 daughters: Betty Atteberry and her husband Robert of Murphysboro, Tennessee and Brenda Wheeler of Morton, Illinois; a brother: Al Kiger of Houston, Texas; a sister Mary Vipka of Sun City Center, Florida; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Her parents, husband, 6 brothers, 3 sisters, a daughter, and a great grandson preceded her in death. Funeral services for Marie Tribe will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with Brother Michael Simpson officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery of Fairfield. Visitation will be conducted at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
