Marion R. Brown

77 year old Fairfield, Illinois resident Marion R. Brown died at 6:29 p.m. Tuesday March 6, 2018 at Burge House Assisted Living in Flora, Illinois. He was the owner of Brown Electric for over 45 years. Marion was a past member of the American Legion, commander of VFW, as well as the Shiners and Fairfield Masonic Lodge. He served his country in the U.S. Army.

Marion was born December 3, 1940 to Sale Brown and Grace McCullough Brown.

Survivors include a son Delrey Brown of Clearwater, Florida; a son-in-law Darrel Thomason of Fairfield, Illinois; 2 daughters Tessa Brown and her companion Brian Dow of Flora, Illinois and Debbie Cox and her husband David of Newton, Illinois; 2 step daughters Brandy Beeson of Fairfield, Illinois and Sarah Robbins of Fairfield, Illinois; a sister Alice May Straube of Fairfield, Illinois; 4 grandchildren Karissa Cx, Lacey Thomason, Ashley Wilkins, and Gabrielle Anderson; 7 step grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Tammy Tomason, a son Jimmy Brown, a brother Ronnie Brown, and a longtime companion Kathi Beck.

Funeral services for Marion Brown will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 10, 2018 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with Brother J.C. McDuffie officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield, Illinois with full military rites conducted by the Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176 and VFW Post 4535.

Visitation will be conducted from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday March 9, 2018 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion or VFW and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
