Michael E. French, Sr

73-year-old Fairfield native, Michael E. French, Sr. of Mt. Vernon, IL died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at White Oaks Rehab & Health Care in Mt. Vernon. He had been an insurance representative, having sold for Prudential Insurance for many years. Michael was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a former member of the Fairfield and Mt. Vernon Elks Lodges. Michael was born May 18, 1938 in Evansville, Indiana to Phillip Edward and Ruth Jane Estes French. Survivors include a son, Michael French, Jr. and his wife Janie of Carrollton, Texas; a daughter, Alyse Iocco and her husband Bob of Huntersville, North Carolina; his former wife, Jacque French of Edgewater, Florida; a sister, Pat Fleetwood of Decatur, IL and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tony, and his son Shawn. Services for Michael E. French, Sr. will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield with Brother Carroll Kakac officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Fairfield. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at Nale's Funeral Home in Fairfield.
