Nelda Rae Hortin

94-year-old former Albion, Illinois resident, Nelda Rae Hortin of Fairfield, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Way-Fair Restorium in Fairfield, Illinois. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church as well as the Methodist Womens Group and TOPS. Nelda Rae was born December 6, 1917 in West Salem, Illinois to Charles and Mable Hallam Chitty. She was united in marriage to Elmer Hortin on May 26, 1934. Survivors include a daughter Judy Siefferman and her husband Gene of Casa Grande, Arizona; a son Harold Hortin and his wife Lillie in Kentucky; 8 grandchildren; as well as several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, 1 son, 2 brothers and 3 sisters preceded Nelda Rae in death. Funeral services for Nelda Rae Hortin will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Albion with Chris Hortin and Dave Ducommon officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 11,2011 after 5:00 p.m. at Nales Funeral Home in Albion.
