Paul E. Newport

83 year old rural Albion resident, Paul E. Newport, passed away at Meadow Brook Skilled Care and Rehab Center in Grayville, Illinois on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

Paul was born March 20, 1938 North West of Albion to Glenn and Dicey (McRoberts) Newport. He married Sue Ann Knackmus on June 29, 1962 at West Salem, Illinois. Sue Ann preceded him in death on June 26, 2019. Paul was lifelong farmer, electrician, logger and saw mill operator. He was also a master carpenter.

Paul is loved by; one daughter, Paula (Walter) Thompson of Albion, two grandsons; Walter (Amanda) Thompson of Albion and Robert (Brynn) Thompson of Effingham. Three great grandchildren; Laureli Seibert, Eli Seibert and Paisley Thompson.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Sue Ann and one grandchild, Zackary Arnold.

Graveside services for Paul E. Newport will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022 at West Village Cemetery with Bro. Nathaniel Trowbridge officiating. There will be no visitation. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to either West Village Cemetery or Samaria Cemetery and will be accepted at Nale's Funeral Home of Albion. Nale's Funeral Home is assisting the family.
