Paul Stallings Obituary

83-year-old Fairfield, Illinois resident Paul M. Stallings died Friday January 25, 2013 at Wayfair Restorium in Fairfield, Illinois. He was a retired teacher, administrator, and coach serving Wayne County schools, most notably New Hope Grade School. Paul served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW. Paul was born September 18, 1929 in Pigott, Arkansas to Hayward R. and Alice Ziegler Stallings. He was united in marriage in Springerton, Illinois to LaDonna Rankin on February 9, 1952. Survivors include his wife LaDonna of Fairfield, Illinois; a son Brad Stallings and his wife Jean of Fairfield, Illinois; a daughter Gerry O'Brien and her husband Dennis of Herrin, Illinois; 2 grandchildren Allison Brooks and her husband Jimmy and Erin Monchino and her husband Jason; and 2 great grandchildren Zack and Zayden Brooks. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers John and Herbert, and 3 sisters Vakel Stallings, Pauline Jamerson, and Joan Musgrave. Services for Paul M. Stallings will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield, Illinois with Brother Ernie Lewis officiating. Burial with full military rites conducted by the Wayne Memorial Post 4535 and Anthony Wayne American Legion Post 176 will be at Maple Hill Cemetery of Fairfield, Illinois. Visitation will be conducted at the funeral home Tuesday January 29, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, the Parkinson's Research, or the American Diabetes Association and envelopes are available at Nales Funeral Home in Fairfield.
